Crime Guns
This project tackled two critical data challenges: validating dealer information and analyzing gun crime data for actionable insights.
Dealer Data Validation:
I developed a web crawler to automate the collection of dealer information, cross-referencing it to identify closed dealers and ensure data accuracy. This significantly reduced manual workload and improved the reliability of operational data for decision-making.
Crime Gun Data Analysis:
Extracted and processed gun-related data using R, analyzing datasets of 3k+ rows and 200 columns to optimize forecasting models for crime prevention costs and resource allocation. I conducted state-by-state analyses to identify trends and highlight high-risk areas.
